Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

When upgrading to Jaunty Alpha-5, the upgrade process continued to 2
minutes to go and seemed to hang. After some minutes I opened the
terminal at the bottom to find that the checkbox upgrade was asking a
question and the install process was hung waiting for that answer. I am
told the terminal used to open when this occured, but it did not do so
on either of two installed I tested today.

The terminal box should either open when something is asked, or should
default open.
