Hello Leann, I tested the newer kernel without the boot options and it did not make any difference.
Coming weekend I will try the Jaunty release. I am presently not at a site where I can download or burn cd images. Also, care to test the latest pre-release for Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha 4). It contains a newer 2.6.28 based kernel and it would be good to know if this issue still exists. You should be able to test booting with a LiveCD - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . Please let us know your results.
