(s.attachment)  even today, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, having updated the
.deb package of my PC I receive the same warning about python2.6 as
shown in the attachment, namely, that a tautology be present within the
code of the python2.6 package.

I therefore removed python2.6 as well as python-all in order to keep my
PC running well.  gdm-new, which I had intended to try using I had
already removed due to its installation including the defective
python2.6.

Might someone from python-support be able to correct that pyhton2.6
code?

apparently, the several python versions concurrently installed are getting in 
each others way now that python 2.6 got installed.  That led to a failure 
during the dist-upgrade
