Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: guake

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release:        9.04
Codename:       jaunty

$ apt-cache policy guake
guake:
  Installed: 0.3.1-5
  Candidate: 0.3.1-5
  Version table:
 *** 0.3.1-5 0
        500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

When typing text into the guake terminal, the text gets jumbled up with some
characters being printed on top of other characters. This also happens within
the Bash prompt. A screenshot is attached showing various errors in the text
formatting (red arrows added to screenshot).
There also appears to be incorrect spacing between some of the characters (eg.
between 'l' and 'e' in 'awn-applets').

When running guake from Gnome Terminal, i see the following warning:

$ guake

(guake.py:4978): Vte-WARNING **: bold font too wide (9 not within 10% of
normal width 8), falling back to double-strike

** Affects: guake (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
