Well, if we are to put focus on a desktop of Xubuntu that "just works" (as the slogan goes for Ubuntu, see http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop), it is well worth fixing bugs in the current LTS version, IMO, and leave refining and adding features to newer versions. I feel stupid reporting bugs that are already fixed, but not for me. This is just an end-user's point of view; I don't know the other side.
