** Summary changed:

- ubuntu splash logo stretched on non-4:3/16:9 displays
+ Logo is stretched on non-4:3/16:9 displays

** Description changed:

- Hello,
+ On some displays, the Ubuntu logo at startup is stretched vertically. On
+ others, it is stretched vertically.

- On iMac G5 rev C, ubuntu logo is stretched vertically. That's really
- strange on a widescreen, where i expected the usplash to be stretched
- horizontally. The usplash is correctly centered.
-
- Étienne.
-
- Update : People also report horizontally stretched usplash screen.
+ Both problems can be solved by choosing the most appropriate image for
+ the screen size, but then centering it instead of scaling it to fit the
+ screen. This would have three other benefits: it would mean fewer
+ usplash images need to be included, each image can be smaller (including
+ only the logo portion, not the entire screen), and most importantly the
+ logo would no longer be made fuzzy by being scaled.
