Ubuntu better. Please tell us which version of the mozilla thunderbird
package you've installed on your system. Is this still an issue in a
recent version? If it is, can you please try to reproduce this error
using a new profile?:
1. Close Thunderbird
2. $ mv ~/.mozilla-thunderbird/ ~/.mozilla-thunderbird_old
3. Start Thunderbird, add an account and try to reproduce.
