Reproduce:
If you have WIRE and WIRELESS ethernet:
In a terminal: ping www.google.com
Ok. Press Ctrl+C to break ping
You can view the IP of google: 209.85.229.147 (copy the IP what you see)
write in the terminal: ping 209.85.229.147
All ok. Press Ctrl+C to break ping

Now put in your WIRE ethernet the static IP: 209.85.229.200 (a IP in the same 
LAN that google)
(example: Static, IP 209.85.229.200, Mask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 209.85.229.1)
You have Wireless ethernet in your house or work with DHCP IP. No net Wire 
connected your PC

Write in the terminal: ping www.dell.com
All ok. Press Ctrl+C to break ping

Write in the terminal: ping  209.85.229.147
The google IP is unreachable.  Press Ctrl+C to break ping
Try browser to www.google.com with your browser: Impossible.
You can browse in all webs, but impossible go to www.google.com
