Public bug reported: Binary package hint: screen-profiles
I am thrilled with the work Dustin Kirkland has done to provide useful screen profiles. One of the features is that the hardstatus line on the bottom will show the number of available package updates in white text against a red background. After manually installing all available updates via aptitude full- upgrade, that status does not change until apt-check is called again. >From perusing the updates-available script in /usr/share/screen- profiles/bin/, it seems that it will update hourly. Could a hook be added to dpkg or a postinstall preference configured for apt that would run updates-available / apt-check and clear the status contemporaneously with the update? $ lsb_release -dr Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 $ uname -srvmo Linux 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux $ apt-cache policy screen-profiles screen-profiles: Installed: 1.26-0ubuntu1~ppa2 Candidate: 1.26-0ubuntu1~ppa2 Version table: *** 1.26-0ubuntu1~ppa2 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: screen-profiles (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- screen-profiles continues to show package updates (red section) even after they are installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
