Status update since 0.6.4 upload in feisty.

Quoting from my original bug report:

>1) It would be great to have OpenVPN/VPNC/PPTP support in >the official
packages.

Still no VPN packages in feisty. I think PPTP at least is still a must.

>2) NM should update resolv.conf. Without this VPN support is >useless since
>DNS servers pushed by the VPN server (e.g. >OpenVPN) are not applied. This is
>a real pain for resolv.conf >in particular since manual changes to it are

NM now updates resolv.conf. I'm connecting to an OpenVPN server using
the OpenVPN plugin. The server pushes nameservers and domains to the
client, but just nameservers are put into resolv.conf, domains are
ignores. I think they should be included in a search statement. Not sure
if this is related to NM or the plugin though.

>3) NM should update the routing table. Without this VPN >support is
useless since routes pushed by the VPN server >(e.g. OpenVPN) are not
applied. This is slightly less painful >because you can manually specify
which networks should go >to the VPN, but still should really be
automatic/configurable.

Pushed routes are still not used. Currently you can either:
1) Use the VPN as default route, may not be what you want.
2) Specify static routes, what you want requiring config.

I think this mechanism should trigger only if the server doesn't push
any routes. If it does, use them.

>4) Upon link failure NM should autoreconnect VPN networks >which were
>connected before link failure.

Still not happening.

>5) You should be able to connect to more than one VPN >concurrently.
This is a major pain. Now you have to >disconnect vpn1 and connect vpn2,
then disconnect vpn2 >and connect vpn1 and so on.

Still not possible.

>6) You should be able to connect to more than one network
>concurrently. Maybe with the option to specify a "primary" >connection
used for default gateway, DNS configuration and >the like. Not sure how
simple/desireable this really is.

Still not possible, as above.
