I can confirm, and it is causing a very non-consistent, frustrating user
experience.

This happens with my 6.06, my 6.10, and a friend's 6.06 (all Kubuntu).
Since I have to administer her machine this is a real headache and she
is considering going back to MS just because her music collection on her
external drive keeps moving.

KAudioKreator is set to auto-rip CDs. Doesn't work, though, when the
device moves from /media/sda1 to /media/sdb1 to /media/external (the
volume name, which makes the most sense for a mount point). Amarok
cannot find the music in its start up scan. There is no consistency.

And the previous mount points (/media/sda1, /media/sdb1) are still in
the /Media directory but empty and with nothing attached to them.
Clutter is bad.

This behavior seems to change with updates; some times it will work
fine, and then after an update the whole system is out of whack. And
just like the original post said, "Note that the devices don't always
swap positions, just enough to be seriously irritating." Seriously.
