OK - with all options unchecked, the file opens. Should I re-enable the checks one at a time to see which is the bad one?
Thanks - at least I know my data is intact. Go to Configure, Home page settings, uncheck all. Try opening your file now. If that doesn't work, can you get a backtrace of the error? Here you can find the instructions on how to do that: http://forum.kde.org/how-to-get-a-backtrace-of-kmymoney-t-32596.html That should help us find where the problem is. -- Can't open file after upgrading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329055 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “kmymoney2” source package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: kmymoney2 Just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10, which updated kmymoney to 0.9. I cannot open my data file created with the older 0.8 version. The program starts, the status bar says something like "loading user information" and then the program simply goes away - vanishes from my screen with no error message of any kind. I've been able to open the program by moving my data so it comes up as if it is a new install, but the same "crash" happens when I try to do a "File, Open" on either my current file or any of my backup copies (going back months). I REALLY would like to have access since we're coming up on income tax time... Any ideas?
