OK, so I think there may be a few separate things going on here. First, I think gnome-compiz-preferences is actually not in intrepid - the package search shows it being in feisty and gutsy but then disappeared. I think the GL desktop options are now in Appearance Preferences 'Visual effects'.
But that doesn't answer the question of why Compiz keeps starting for me, or the fact the error is so unhelpful. I think the error is coming from gconf gconf-internals.c 'gconf_value_list_to_primitive_list_destructive'; that could be called from a few places - including gconf's gconf_engine_get_list and gconf_client_get_list I've added Gnome bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=571839 to ask for some more information in gconf Type errors. I'm going to remove gnome-compiz-preferences here - and hope that next time I can turn off compiz in Appearance Preferences. -- gnome-compiz-preferences type mismatch warning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210162 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
