@fishor It's even simpler than you suggest. Simply add ehci_hcd to /etc /initramfs-tools/modules without changing anything else. At least initramfs-tools 0.92o gives preference to the modules set in that file, even if the MODULES setting is left to the default of "most." That behavior is implemented in scripts/functions, if you are curious.
