I've since retried and it somehow go it to work. I was trying to install on my 15'' Macbook Pro and the issue seems to have been resolved, although I forget how. Might be an intermittent problem with the Mac hardware. Sorry I can't help any more, but I don't have even have the CD anymore, I boot off HDD now.
