Hi Jean-Christophe, Do you think the libao.conf file was changed as part of the cdemu-daemon update?
Sound on my laptop has worked fine with Ubuntu for several months now, but today I rebooted and now it only crackles. My conf file also points to alsa, but I'm loathe to change settings and mask a bug that really needs to be sorted out somewhere else, if those settings previously worked fine. Bugs #328869, #326864 and #328030 also appear to relate to vanishing sound in the last few days.
