Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I'm using a Dell Dimension 5150 desktop PC with Dell external speakers
and a Logitech headset with mircrophone. I recently installed Ubuntu
8.10 and I'm gradually finding my way around this OS. Today my external
speakers stopped working and regardless of the preferences I choose, all
the sound comes from my headset.

This is the list of hardware devices that I obtained:-

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: Headset [Logitech USB Headset], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Murdo
