Public bug reported: Can we please have Pulseaudio 0.9.15 and Alsa 1.0.19 in Jaunty?
There is a Thread in the forum http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1066212 regarding a test PPA of Pulseaudio 0.9.15 however it is noted that it will NOT make Jaunty final. I see absolutely no sense in this what so ever. I understand that a higher version number doesnt always mean better but in this case it does. PA 0.9.15 brings many advantages over .14 and it is due to be released next week. Feature Freeze isnt for another 2 weeks nearly and there is still almost 2 MONTHS left of the Jaunty dev cycle. Also keep in mind that we are now approaching the period where most people feel comfortable enough to jump on board an Alpha release which means it will be tested on a much higher number of Hardware over the next couple of months. One of Jaunty's main focuses is bug fixing. Well sound has been a big bug in Linux for a long time now and with the time left in this cycle i see no reason for it to be left out. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Pulseaudio 0.9.15 and Alsa v1.0.19 request for Jaunty. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/328823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
