I had the same thing with my Jaunty VM. I didn't had the DPI set or enabled, but after the recent update, it was enabled. After disabling it again, the fonts were fine. This didn't happen on my laptop that runs Intrepid but the Xfce from Jaunty (I want the new 4.6).
