I tried: gdb /usr/lib/xscreensaver/polytopes 2>&1 | tee gdb-polytopes.txt
and typed 'run' in gdb. It successfully brought up the Polytopes screensaver in a window. Pressing escape closed the window. However, I repeated this process about 7000 times (via a script!) and it never locked up. Somehow, it seems that it needs to be in full-screen mode as a real screensaver to reproduce the problem. Unfortunately, it seems that when run in this mode, a backtrace is not possible. Is there another method to try? -- [intel] polytopes screensaver freezes, requiring hard reset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/319097 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
