Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

Pidgin just randomly crashes with no visible symptoms for that.

I use it mainly for ICQ messaging on two Acer laptops. Both of them run
Intrepid with the same kernel versions:

Linux laptop 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64
GNU/Linux
Linux daemon 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 15 11:03:58 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux

... and there the similarities end.

The first one is with a AMD Turion 64-bit X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
processor with the nVidia chipset, and the second one is has an Intel
Pentium M processor with some Intel chipset.

Pidgin crashes on both of them, but it happens more frequently on the
64-bit one(backtrace attached for it).
