Actually, firefox crashes on a number of sites including our local news
channel, www.wgal.com, when Adobe flash 7.0 is installed. It took me a
long time to figure out what was causing that and Flash Beta 9 fixed it,
so I'd rather not remove that plug in.

In any case, after restarting firefox, it seems to now be allowing me
into "My Account" on Amazon.com, so I'm not as concerned as I was
yesterday.

Is all of this trouble normal? It seems like firefox is really
unstable. When I say it crashes, I mean it just shuts down, no error
message, no warning, just blink and the browser is gone.

Thanks for writing back!
