Public bug reported: Binary package hint: zynaddsubfx
Hi. Since I upgraded to Intrepid, I have not been able to load a .xmz file (general preset). Instead, I get a harsh SEGFAULT. Same goes for .xiz files (intrument preset). It used to work fine since Edgy Eft (as the development of zynaddsubfx was dicontinued several years ago, I suppose the version proposed has not changed since then, namely 2.2.1). Also, (as a workaround) I first tried (and managed) to compile zynaddsubfx from source, but when I try to run that compiled version, it freezes the system completely (no mouse or keyboard interaction possible, including Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and Ctrl+Alt+Del) so I could not figure out anything this way... I include a GDB trace. Also, note that I ran valgrind (memcheck) on it, and it reported a lot of errors. The "funny" thing is that IT WORKS WHEN I RUN IT THROUGH VALGRIND. Of course, it does not _properly_ works, as valgrind is not exactly suited for realtime synthesis ;-) but I could at least open the .xmz, although it threw out a lot of errors. So this is likely a memory error. I have Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 installed. ** Affects: zynaddsubfx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Crash when loading a presets file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
