Ahem, i've read the link you've posted, but i'm not confident to say i've understood completely.
One things keep me in doubt: the group server-side are far less then 16, and only adding 'local' (non-LDAP) groups i go over 16. Anyway, because i had also some windows client, for now i've circumvent this using CIFS and pam_mount.
