Public bug reported: Intrepid (8.10) netboot (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz) hangs on Acer Aspire One (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne110L). The laptop simply hangs with a blank screen.
However, if I remove or comment out the following line from pxelinux.cfg/default: default ubuntu-installer/i386/boot-screens/vesamenu.c32 it will proceed to load ubuntu-installer/i386/linux etc and starts the installer, and everything works fine. Package version info (according to version.info file in the netboot.tar.gz): Debian version: 8.10 Installer build: 20080522ubuntu23 As a comparison, the netboot.tar.gz from Hardy (8.04) (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy- updates/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz) works out of the box. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Interpid netboot hangs on Acer Aspire One + Intrepid netboot hangs on Acer Aspire One -- Intrepid netboot hangs on Acer Aspire One https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
