Public bug reported: Jaunty, up-to-date.
'pm-suspend' properly suspends the machine 'pm-hibernate' properly hibernates the machine Suspend/hibernate from the gpm menu doesn't do anything. Running gnome-power-manager --no-daemon from the terminal and running suspend results in the error: "** (gnome-power-manager:27719): WARNING **: Suspend failed without error message" Running: > dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.Hal > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer > org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Suspend int32:0 results in the output: > method return sender=:1.2 -> dest=:1.194 reply_serial=2 > int32 1 and nothing further. Running the dbus-send with gdm shutdown properly suspends the machine however. Suspend and hibernate worked properly in intrepid. ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- dbus-send...suspend doesn't work while X is running (breaks suspend/hibernate from menu) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/319818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
