Hey there, i can confirm this bug too. With AMD64 nVidia7600GT and Ubuntu 8.10. I also tried gnome-panel version 1:2.25.5.1-0ubuntu1 on this system and something changed. Now all applications started from menu appear on screen 0. Still gnome-panel hangs when using a shortcut on the panel.
