I was wondering if you are still having this issue with kdesktop_lock as I am currently unable to reproduce the issue. I am using the following:
release: edgy 6.10 Qt: 3.3.6 KDE: 3.5.5 KDesktop Locker: 2.0 I discovered the version of KDesktop Locker by running 'kdesktop_lock --version'. What release and versions of KDE and KDesktop Locer are you running? I was able to see the same error messages you saw in /var/log/auth.log by typing in my password incorrectly.
