it is not a duplicate of bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284298
that bug refers to wi-fi connections, and all the posts refer that it was
possible to edit the connection properties, acting on 'system settings'
checkbox etc. etc.
furthermore that bug is reported as fixed in nm 0.7
i'm using jaunty, and nm 0.7 is installed.
i can edit no option at all.
i tried to delete the 'default' eth0 connection e to recreate a customized
connection, but nothing is saved.
i tried to remove network-manager and to reinstall it, but this not solved the
problem.
at the moment i have set a connection by hand in /etc/network/interfaces (no
eth0 was reported before my modification, as showned in
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21260808/IfupdownConfig.txt) and i can connect to
my network, but nm-applet tell me that there are no active connections.
