** Description changed: I have not been able to get a graphical display since 2.6.27.8-generic. In other words, I can not start a X sessions. The problem is related to the appropriate ATI driver for 2.6.27-10 and *-11 kernels. Something seems not to be working. I am used to see this thing happen, since I suffered a similar problem on 8.04. So, while booting, I choose to continue working on 2.26.7-8 up to the point where the driver is compatible with a new kernel version. It seems that this problem is inherent to ATI cards, more than nvidia ones. + + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: VIA Technologies, Inc.
