Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpartx

Version: Hardy 8.04.1
multipath-tools v0.4.8
GNU Parted 1.8.9
kpartx 0.4.8-10ubuntu1

I have a 4.5T ISCSI device.

multipath -ll
mpath3 (3600a0b80003aa47d00000b42496c062c) dm-1 IBM     ,1726-3xx  FASt
[size=4.5T][features=0][hwhandler=0]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=1][active]
 \_ 7:0:0:0 sde 8:64  [active][ready]

#parted /dev/sde
GNU Parted 1.8.9
Using /dev/sde

# kpartx -g -a /dev/mapper/mpath3

GPT:Alternate GPT header not at the end of the disk.
GPT:245e1dfff != ffffffffffffffff

gpt: 1 slices

The device /dev/mapper/mpath3p1 should have been created

Instead I received the above error and no device was created.

I have done the exact same steps on a smaller device and the device is
successfully created.

Please let me know if you require further testing or information.

Thanks
Laurence Mayer
