I upgraded from Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake (Evolution 2.6) to 6.10 Edgy Eft (Evolution 2.8.1) yesterday because I was seeing this same bug. At first I didn't see the bug in the new version, but then it reared its ugly head again.
I'm on a powerpc platform with 1.5GB of RAM and 100GB HD. I couldn't get the debugging breakpoint gdk_x_error() until I installed all the lib*-dbg for all the installed lib* (I didn't know which supplied gdk_x_error()). I've attached my gdb trace in case it is some help. Let me know what other info you would like. ** Attachment added: "ppc ubuntu6.10 evolution2.8.1-0ubuntu4 backtrace" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5362590/evolution_crash.trace -- evolution randomly crashes https://launchpad.net/bugs/21582 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
