IMHO: I disagree with this issue marked as low priority. Given the target audience for ubuntu, I believe such things should be some higher priority, and scheduled for the very next available update.
Technically, this hurts nothing. My system works fine. However, as far an "OS Image / perception" goes, things like these yell: Immaturity.
