i have the same card, i download the snapshot from madwifi page (see
ticket 1192 and follow the links), compile it following the steps from
madwifi "first time how to". its important that you blacklist ath5k,
otherwise ath5k module will load preventing ath_pci work properly,
obviously the ath_pci module you will be using is that one from snapshot
because the one from restricted modules will be uninstalled (see the
madwifi how to). The last madwifi snapshot works just fine, but
sometimes has breakages, but i think that for this card is more stable
than ath5k at this point. I also tested the last ath5k from linux
wireless compat , but some random error occur, sometimes the card
sttoped working and the card led didn't turn on (which scared me) and it
didn't work after rebooting and starting again with windows. The
solution was to completely shutdown the laptop and booting again, i
guess it has something to do woth the openhal that uses ath5k. Well i
recommend you to use the madwifi snapshot and uninstall the backport
modules and your card will work.
