Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-4-generic
Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid with Linux 2.6.28 (from Jaunty) on Toshiba A30 laptop, oops occurs during loading of Agere firmware agere_sta_fw.bin, this firmware should enable WPA for HERMES cards using the orinoco_cs module. Please let me known if more info is needed. Note that the firmware file (agere_sta_fw.bin) is not included in linux-firmware but is available from http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/dwmw2/linux- firmware.git;a=commit;h=d10bf8bb5a5b3769fd44be519d6008e1486fbca2 To re-produce: 1. Boot in recovery mode with firmware file renamed so that it will not be loaded 2.
