Ubuntu Intrepid Linux torkiano-laptop 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 8 08:38:38 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux powertop is showing that scan_async is waking up the CPU 10 times per second all the time with more recent kernels.
