Public bug reported: I own an LG Flatron L1715S which is more than capable of running at all resolutions up to 1280x1024. Ubuntu never detected the right resolution though and always stuck me with 800x600.. I never thought this was a real issue until screens and graphics was completely removed from intrepid and the repos.. Now that I cant manually configure the monitor or graphics card I am stuck with the crappy auto detection. When I did use screens and graphics I used to choose generic tft monitor with 1280x1024 and the vesa driver... I hope that the auto detection will be fixed in Jaunty.
