At the end of the upgrade to 8.10, a number of packages, including the update
manager, were reported as having configuration/installation errors

As a test and to see if I could fix up any errors, I ran the synaptic package
manager, got new upgrade list, marked all upgrades and error window pops up
with:
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://us.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/universe
Packages
(/var/lib/apt/lists/us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_intrepid_universe_binary-i386_Packages)

I applied the updates and three packages were downloaded with the following
error:
E: gnome-accessibility-themes: subprocess post-installation script returned
error exit status 1
E: gnome-accessibility: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
E: gnome-themes: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status
1
E: gnome-desktop-environment: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
E: ubuntu-desktop: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
