I've attached the dmesgs for 2.6.27-11.22, 2.6.27-11.23 and 2.6.27-11.23~apw in a tarball. One more thing I've noticed: the maximum setting in (broken) -11.23 yields the same amount of backlight as the minimum setting in (working) -11.22.
