Hey ;)

        The problem no longer persists...
My installation was an upgrade from dapper to edgy.
After talking to some friends of mine, I decided to reinstall the OS
from scratch, and this problem (along with others) magically
disappeared...
I suppose the problem was related with the upgraded status of my
edgy...
Anyways I was using Firefox with Flash 9 Beta (still using now with no
problems), Java from Automatix 2 and no extensions other than the
default.

Sorry if I cannot be more helpful,

Kind Regards,
Francisco Maia
