Hey ;) The problem no longer persists... My installation was an upgrade from dapper to edgy. After talking to some friends of mine, I decided to reinstall the OS from scratch, and this problem (along with others) magically disappeared... I suppose the problem was related with the upgraded status of my edgy...
Anyways I was using Firefox with Flash 9 Beta (still using now with no problems), Java from Automatix 2 and no extensions other than the default.
