Public bug reported: Binary package hint: powerdevil
Changing the screen brightness with laptop function keys (Fn+up/down on my dell) works, but doesn't appear to be recognised by powerdevil (the battery monitor applet's screen brightness setting doesn't change). This is problematic, as my screen is usually set to full brightness when on power, but when I use the laptop at night, I prefer to turn it down. If I do this with the keyboard, it works, but if I leave the computer for long enough for powerdevil to dim the screen, when I come back, the screen brightness resets to powerdevil's setting (which doesn't remember my keyboard setting, as it never recognised it). This means I have to change the brightness every time I come back to the computer, or change it manually with the mouse in the battery monitor applet. ** Affects: powerdevil (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- powerdevil doesn't recognise funtion-key screen brightness changes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/315001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
