@Andy  -- I did as you suggested, adding "blacklist sis-agp" to 
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.
I then ran Ubuntu 4X, labelled 1-4.   This bug is intermittent. This is 
2.6.27.10 kernel.
1)  I got an error I had not seen before: "jockey-gtk close unexpectedly"
and "jockey-backend closed unexpectedly"
While running totem movie player it crashed.
ctr-alt-backspace had no affect
2)  ran for one hour, no crash
3)  ran for one hour, windows got distorted so that they were unusable.
ctr-alt-backspace restarted X
ran ok for 10 minutes, I shutdown normally.
4)  ran for one hour, while playing VLC.
windows distorted, and keyboard non responsive
the movie continued to play
ctr-alt-backspace no affect.
