Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
When I try to switch users, a new VT appears to start initializing. But
after a few mode switches, about 75% of the time the screen then starts
to flash all solid colors, changing about once per second:

red, blue, green, white, black,
red, blue, green, white, black,

and so on, ad infinitum. In order to use my display again, I have to
kill all open X displays with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. At that point gdm
starts again, and I can log in.

The result is that I'm generally limited now to having only one user
logged in at a time. Sometimes a 2nd user can log in successfully, but
when I try to switch back, I always get the solid colors and have to
kill all of the sessions again.

Attaching Xorg.0.log, and output of lspci -vvnn. Note that I can't be
sure which VT is flashing the colors, so I'm also attaching Xorg.20.log.

Thanks,
Andrew.
