guys, the original bug report was with nvidia, and those who are plugging it to a laptop should not be interested in this bug. The monitor uses the same resolution as the panel on the laptop by default, so there's nothing unusual about it. You just need _not_ to use cloned mode, but then you also might lose acceleration because of hardware limitations.
