Same thing here. Upgrading an X60 tablet from hardy to intrepid broke the autorotate behavior, called when swiveling the screen up or down. acpi was hearing the events, as evidenced by the output of acpi_listen, but it didn't act on them. Other events, such as volume and mute keys, did work. Running acpid in debug mode restored autorotation.
For the moment i've just downgraded to the acpid package from hardy.
