nkri: I just got the debs from the Hardy repository. It's so obvious that it's even surprising - but it works! :)
I used this search as a starting point (linux-386, in my case): http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=hardy-updates&arch=any&searchon=names&keywords=linux And then I just downloaded its dependencies (and their dependencies and so on). I don't know which debs are really needed, but this was the full list I had in the end: linux-386_2.6.24.22.24_i386.deb linux-image-2.6.24-22-386_2.6.24-22.45_i386.deb linux-image-386_2.6.24.22.24_i386.deb linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-22-386_2.6.24.14-22.53_i386.deb linux-restricted-modules-386_2.6.24.22.24_i386.deb linux-restricted-modules-common_2.6.24.14-22.53_all.deb linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-22-386_2.6.24-22.35_i386.deb module-init-tools_3.3-pre11-4ubuntu5.8.04.1_i386.deb nvidia-kernel-common_20051028+1ubuntu8_all.deb Just run the debs in the right order (dependencies first) and voilĂ ! :) Don't forget that your newly installed kernel won't be the default option, so you'll have to choose it manually at boot time, or edit /boot/grub/menu.lst. (Or just uninstall the default kernel using synaptic - that's what I did). In case you too have an eee, grab your kernel debs here: http://www.array.org/ubuntu/dists/hardy/eeepc/binary-i386/ Good luck! (But again... How/where do we talk to kernel developers? I really don't know. I'm new here.) -- Bluetooth does not work at Acer Aspire 7520 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
