I was having the same issue using the same version of firefox. Using the example video and placing it in the Address bar of firefox I was prompted to search for codecs for totem. I let firefox search for the codecs, this was from a fresh update from firefox 3.03 and an older version of gstreamer.
I upgraded gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg manually, first then was prompted by firefox to search for codecs twice. I added both of them, then was able to watch the video without issue. Either by clicking on the video directly on the page or by submitting the provided link. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- iptv.orf.at not working - requires a Microsoft Media Server (MMS) protocol source plugin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
