BenM: I don't think that's the same problem. I didn't have the problem with Hardy and my drive can play/read everything fine which leads me to believe that the errors are spurious. It seems that they aren't in your case and there may be a genuine problem with your hardware (or maybe you don't have libdvdcss installed).
