Hi, I first tried the regular versions for ubuntu 8.10. Unfortunately the problem was still there, i.e. the tv refresh rate was not correct and I could only see a shaky picture. Then I added these sources:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/intel-gfx-testing/ubuntu intrepid main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/intel-gfx-testing/ubuntu intrepid mainand updated my laptop. After that again the refresh rate is not correct. This time I was not even able to see the shaky picture, the TV was completely blank. I have attached the output of xrandr after the update and connecting the TV. In both cases I have tried restarting the X with TV connected, but it did not help at all. thanks lot, Farhad ________________________________ From: Bryce Harrington <br...@bryceharrington.org> To: farhad_k...@yahoo.com Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 9:30:54 PM Subject: [Bug 241389] Re: [i945] TV out refresh rate is not correct using xrandr and intel 945 chipset [This is an automatic notice.] We'd like to forward your bug upstream, however upstream requires that you first test it against their newer driver code. To save you the effort of building the driver from source, we've built packages for the driver and its new dependencies. So you have a couple options: 1. Download and test .debs for intrepid, from: https://edge.launchpad.net/~intel-gfx-testing/+archive -or- 2. Download and test the Jaunty alpha-2 (or newer) Live CD, (which includes a beta of the new xserver 1.6 as well). See http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/ for ISOs Thanks ahead of time! You can simply reply to this email to report your findings. P.S., if you wish to forward your bug upstream yourself, please follow these directions to do so: http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html -- [i945] TV out refresh rate is not correct using xrandr and intel 945 chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241389 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a A100 Toshiba laptop with intel 945 chipset. When I want to connect a TV using SVIDEO out, xrandr just shows 30 Hz refresh rate which is for NTSC. If I try to change its format to PAL, the rate changes to 25 instead of 60 Hz. I need to get 60 Hz in order to connect it to tv. I tried adding new mode with 60 Hz rate, but it does not work. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and my xrandr version is 1.2. ** Attachment added: "xr.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20625102/xr.txt -- [i945] TV out refresh rate is not correct using xrandr and intel 945 chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
