Since the update in Intrepid to 2.6.27-11 the Realtek 8180 wireless drivers fail to work if the backports modules are installed, but I haven't been able to find a related bug report. Removing the backports modules and rebooting seems to fix it since it is running on the kernel stock drivers. The strange part is that the modules give no error and load just fine, the wmaster0 interface is created, but the wlan0 interface isn't created. Should I open a new kernel report?
